Tell us about your venue. How long have you been holding weddings and how many weddings do you hold per year?

Starship has been hosting Wedding's for over 20 years. This began on our smaller vessel Starship Aqua, formerly known as The Pontoon. Starship Sydney was then built 10 years ago and since then we have been able to cater for wedding groups of 60 up to 300+ We are extremely honoured to be a part of hundreds every year and enjoy bringing people dream weddings to life.

Why should a couple consider your venue over other venues?

Starship Sydney can not only offer everything important for your big day, but also the breathtaking 360 degree views of Sydney Harbour which you can't get from a normal venue. We have over 25 years of combined experience in Wedding & Events and are here to help make the entire planning process as easy & stress free.

What’s the first thing brides usually ask when they come and see you?

Usually the first question we get asked is 'Where does the boat go for my wedding' We have a Standard Route around Sydney Harbour which includes sights such as The Bridge, Opera House, Botanic Gardens, Taronga Zoo, Lunar Park & much more but we are always open to idea's from our couples.

What size functions can you hold/host?

The whole vessel will hold 1000 guests for a cocktail function. We can then do split level dining for up to 550 guests across the Main Deck & Lounge Deck and up to 400 all on one level!

Can the ceremony be held at your venue?

Yes absolutely! We set up the ceremony on the Roof Top of the vessel and position it in Farm Cove near the Botanic Gardens & Opera House for the perfect backdrop during the couples vowels!

Are the couple free to decorate as they like?

Yes of course, we encourage creativity and unique ideas and have had some incredible styling on board.

If your venue is outdoors is there a backup space in case of rain?

Yes we do. If the ceremony is organised for the Roof Top & it rains then my staff will set up the Lounge Level for the ceremony instead. The view is still amazing as the entire vessel is glass and this ensures the couple & their guests are comfortable during the ceremony.

Could you give our readers some indication of the range of prices for hiring your venue?

This is a bit tricky as it completely varies depending on guest numbers. Best to give us a call and we can talk through their ideas.

How early do couples need to book you?

This depends on how flexible or set they are on their wedding date. We are already taking bookings for 2020 so people should always try and book as soon as they can to ensure they lock in their preferred date/time of year.

What time at night can weddings stay at your venue?

As late as the couple want. We have no restriction on time except for some Wharves only allow drop off prior to midnight. If the client wants to extend past this point then we simply take all guests back to another Wharf in Sydney Harbour. All this can be pre organised & booked so guests are aware of where the boat will dock.

Do you offer accommodation options?

Sadly no we do not have any accommodation on site as we are a vessel and do not have the capacity to have hotel rooms on board.

What other (if any) wedding services do you offer?

We offer wedding planning services from day one. Myself and my team work with the clients to plan and execute their event. This involves things such as booking & organising suppliers, deciding on decor, putting together an event run sheet including the event itinerary, mapping out a floor plan & seating plan and much more!
